Mayhem and destruction

Some viewers may find this provocative piece unsettling.
Its portrayal of casual violence and destruction is not an easy subject matter. It has been argued by some (notably Schumpeter, 1942) that to create, we must destroy.
This piece seeks to capture the act of annihilation, to make real the abstract notion of creative destruction. The result is both disturbing and challenging. Why jolt when we can glide? Why hit when we can hug? By asking these difficult questions, the piece itself becomes a radical act, not in a destructive manner, but a constructive one.
The extreme violence of this work juxtaposed with, ultimately, its hopeful message, offers a jarring yet satisfying experience for the viewer.
