Winter is coming. Is it? It is.

Winter is coming. Is winter a state of mind? Or a naturally occurring phenomenon based on our distance from the sun? Does it matter? We are at its mercy and no scientific discovery can possibly help us. (Though micro-fleece is a start, I guess. And sheep’s wool, but that’s not science as much as a natural counterbalance to winter’s cruel touch.)

Winter kills more people than volcanos. Winter’s lava is a dark, cold, wet morning waiting at a bus stop. Be wary of this oozing lava as it approaches and seeks to overwhelm you. Wrap yourself in the warmth of a good coat and your friend’s laughter. Take vitamin D. Upgrade your socks. Laugh.

Best of luck this winter, fellow travellers. Respect volcanoes.
